    I’m just starting to read through the 2nd edition, and section 3.4 says:

    … and choose a file named hello_nucleo.hex

    However, running Project->Build Project in section 3.2 only generates .bin and .elf files by default.

    The STM32CubeProgrammer seems to accept .elf files instead of .hex, so I’m not sure if .hex is necessary in this step.

    FYI, I was able to generate a .hex file by checking the “Convert to Intel Hex file” option in the project preferences:

    Hi,
    Thank you for your feedback. Yes, it’s a bug in the book 😀 The right extension is the .elf.
