    I had Java installed on my 64-bit Win 7 PC but received error “Java was started but returned exit code=13” when first running Eclipse.

    The solution was to go to the download page you mention in the book and install the 64 bit version. You might want to add a sentence that spells out that you need the 64-bit version of the JRE. 32-bit JRE is commonly installed on 64 bit Windows but won’t work with 64 bit Eclipse.
