Hi, First of all, the book you wrote is great! I’m trying already a long time to jump into the STM32 family, but I never got started. With your help it finally happened.
I want to make an suggestion. On page 244 you use the terminal plugin in eclipse. I followed it and discovered that on Windows 10 x64 (not tested on other versions) the plugin was unable to find the serial COM ports on my pc. So I did some research and discovered this page:
https://jan-hinrichs.net/terminal-window-in-eclipse/
This explains what to do in this case, especially in the “Installing additional files for the RXTX plugin” section. Maybe you can add a link or description in your book.
EDIT: This procedure is also descripted on the RXTX site: http://rxtx.qbang.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_for_Windows
Now i’m going on following your book 🙂
Kevin
Hi Kevin!
I ran into the same problem, but I can’t connect to the RXTX site: http://rxtx.qbang.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_for_Windows
The page seems don’t working, and I can’t download the eclipse plugin from here, as it is written in the book: http://rxtx.qbang.org/eclipse/
Do you have any idea how to solve my problem?
Thanks in advance
Norbert
Hi, thank you for letting me know about that workaround. I’ll update instructions in the next release of the book.
